At The Surf Motion, we want you to be stoked with every purchase, just like you are after catching the perfect wave. If something isn’t quite right with your order, we’ve got you covered with our hassle-free returns and exchanges policy.

Our Return Policy

You have 15 days from the date of delivery to initiate a return or exchange. All returned items must be:

  • In original, unused condition with all tags attached
  • In the original packaging (especially important for boards and fins)
  • Accompanied by the original receipt or proof of purchase

Note on Special Items: For the safety of all surfers, certain items cannot be returned for hygiene or safety reasons:

  • Construction and Repair Parts (once opened)
  • Used Fins (from our Fins On Special and Used section)
  • Customized or personalized items

How to Return or Exchange

Follow these simple steps to get your return or exchange sorted:

  1. Contact Us within 15 days of delivery at [email protected] with your order number and details about the product you’d like to return or exchange.
  2. Wait for Approval – We’ll respond within 2 business days with return instructions.
  3. Pack It Up – Securely package the item(s) in the original packaging.
  4. Ship It Back – Send the package to our return address (provided in your approval email) using a trackable shipping service.
  5. Get Your Refund or New Gear – Once we receive and inspect your return, we’ll process your refund or ship your exchange.

Return Shipping

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the return is due to our error (wrong item sent or defective product). We recommend using a trackable shipping service as we can’t be responsible for items lost in transit.

Refund Processing

Once your return is received and inspected (usually within 3-5 business days), we’ll process your refund to the original payment method. Please note:

  • Credit card/PayPal refunds: 5-10 business days to appear on your statement
  • Original shipping costs: Non-refundable unless the return is due to our error

Exchange Processing

Exchanges are subject to product availability. If the item you want isn’t available, we’ll issue a refund instead. We’ll ship your exchange as soon as we process your return – typically within 3-5 business days after receiving your returned item.

Damaged or Defective Items

If your surf gear arrives damaged or defective, contact us immediately at [email protected] with photos of the damage and your order number. We’ll arrange a replacement or refund and cover all return shipping costs.
